About the Assignment: You will be gathering information about a topic using a Google Doc (formative grade) that helps you organize it into likely sections of your paper (summative grade #1). Your overall purpose for writing is informational; however, you will still have a thesis/claim supported by your paragraphs that explains the big picture significance of your topic as it relates to the culture of the Gatsby era. You will further share your information in a class presentation (summative grade #2).
Choose several topics from a Google Sheet and get signed up. (Find your teacher's name and period using the tabs near the bottom and click to view.)
Make a copy of a research Google Document to collect information and collect your source citations. Rename it. Submit a editable copy link in the designated folder in your teacher's dropbox on eClass.

PROCESS: 1) Go "shopping" for sources first with the database options on this page and then with its websites, adding each to your MyBib Project as a possible sources. 2) As you are collecting and browsing, fill in a first draft of your paper's mini-outline on the Google Doc. 3) Harvest facts that would be could supporting evidence for your body paragraph's main points. |
